Idioms occasionaly reflect the image of the nation and people that use them. They reflect the ways and habits of people through out centuries. Idioms are events that truly took place in the past, somehow , but then as they were passed on among the crowd they got an entirely different meaning 🙂
My coworkers & I discussed about idioms that are used in Finland.. and boy, some of them are hillarious 😀

My top favorites are:
1) Works like a lavatory of a train – Toimii kuin junan vessa ( meaning: It works efficiently.)
2) Cock on forehead – Kyrpä otsassa (meaning: if you have a penis on your forehead , it means you have a negative attitude towards someone or something.. LOL.)
3) Disappared like flatulence (i.e fart) in Sahara – Katosi kuin pieru Saharaan (meaning: someone or something,disappeared into thin air.) Have your heard any wicked Finnish idiom? Or perhaps a cool idiom from your own country?
